Driving School Management (free) — DYONYSOS

A free management app for a driving school with a few instructors, on Odoo 19 Community. A complete foundation for data entry and business rules: this is not a restricted or time-limited version, it is the half of the application that you type into rather than read on a dashboard.

The real problem. A small school with a few instructors tracks its students, hour packages and schedule with a paper or shared calendar and a separate hours spreadsheet: no one can see at a glance who has run out of hours, who has not come in three weeks, or whether an instructor or vehicle is already booked in a time slot.

Student records. Student record with a sequential file reference, target license category, file documents (ID, proof of address, photo, census certificate...) with tracking of their receipt, and progress status (enrolled, theory in progress, driving in progress, ready for the test, license holder).

Packages and invoicing. A package sold from a configurable catalog (for example "20 hours + theory test"), with automatic deduction of hours used at each lesson completed, remaining hours always up to date, and invoicing of the extra as soon as the package is exceeded — on standard Odoo Accounting, with an optional payment schedule.

Lesson schedule. Calendar view per instructor and per vehicle. No double booking is possible: an instructor or vehicle already booked on a slot that overlaps another lesson is rejected at the data level, not just in the display. Nor can a lesson be scheduled on a package with no hours remaining. A late cancellation (configurable notice period before the slot) is distinguished from a normal cancellation and counts as an hour used, as agreed commercially.

Training progress tracking. Skills worked on in each lesson (configurable skills framework), proficiency level (not covered / in progress / acquired), consolidated on the student record.

Exams. Sitting for the theory or driving test, result, attempt number calculated automatically — a new attempt is simply a new record. Setting the driving test to “Passed” automatically moves the file to License holder status.

Regulatory — everything is configurable, nothing is hard-coded. The prefectoral approval, the validity period of the theory test and the rules for presenting candidates for the exam change over time and vary between prefectures: this module exposes default values clearly marked “to be checked” in the company settings, and asserts no regulatory figure in this listing or in the interface.

What the full version adds (a separate module that depends on this one, with no data lost on installation): the dashboard and per-instructor indicators, PDF reports (training agreement, progress booklet, certificate of training completion), the three automatic reminders (inactive student, package nearly used up, theory test pass about to expire) and the student area on the portal. Important — what this version does not do (see the dedicated section of this listing and the README): no dashboard, no PDF reports, no automatic reminders, no student portal space (see the full version); and, like the full version, no electronic transmission with the NEPH or any official examination system, no CERFA document generation, no integrated online payment, no advanced fleet management.
