Overview
Regulatory periodic inspections — DYONYSOS
A free module and the foundation of the DYONYSOS regulatory registers for Odoo 19 Community.
Also searched as: safety register, regulatory inspection schedule, periodic general inspection, approved inspection body tracking, mandatory inspection management.
The real problem. A company must have its equipment — electrical, lifting, fire safety, measuring instruments, refrigeration, hot water — inspected by accredited bodies, at intervals set by regulations. These due dates live in a spreadsheet, on one computer, maintained by one person. When that person leaves, no one knows which inspection is due or when. The labor inspectorate finds out before the company does.
An obligation named with its legal basis. An inspection type is not labeled “periodic inspection” but by the text that requires it, cited in plain words: décret, arrêté, code article, EU regulation. The legal basis is mandatory — without it, a register is enforceable against no one.
The due date is calculated, not entered. A completed inspection carries its date; the type's frequency gives the next due date. An asset's due date is the nearest of its inspections' due dates. Nothing to copy over, nothing to keep up to date.
A body whose accreditation has expired cannot sign. This is the check nobody implements, and it is the one that invalidates the whole chain: a report from a body that has lost its accreditation is worthless, the inspection is deemed not performed, and the operator believes they are compliant with a document that has no value. Validity is checked at the date of the inspection, not the date of data entry: a March report signed under an accreditation that ran until June remains valid.
The alert, once, never twice. A scheduled action creates an Odoo activity for the person responsible for the equipment when the due date approaches — and only one per due date. It is shipped inactive: you activate it once the equipment base has been entered, not before.
A dashboard that fits on one page: what is overdue, what falls due within thirty days, what has never been inspected, what is non-compliant.
The registers that plug into it
This base provides the mechanism; four paid modules each cover one regulation:
Legal metrology — periodic verification of regulated measuring instruments;
F-gas register — leak checks on refrigeration equipment;
Asbestos register — asbestos technical file and pre-works asbestos survey;
Legionella risk — monitoring of shared domestic hot water systems.
What the module does not do
It provides no ready-made list of mandatory inspections: a company's obligations depend on its activity, its facilities and its headcount. It does not replace advice from a lawyer or a health and safety specialist. It does not order services from inspection bodies or schedule their visits. It calculates no tax or fee.
Two roles
User: view the equipment base, enter completed inspections. Manager: equipment base, inspection types, accredited bodies.
