A DYONYSOS management app for independent or mid-sized book publishers, for Odoo 19 Community.

The key design point: the work and the edition are two different things.

The Little Prince is a work — one title, one or more authors. It exists in several editions: hardcover, paperback, digital, audio, each with its own ISBN, its own list price and its own print run. Small publishers' spreadsheets conflate the two, and then cannot answer the only question that matters to the author: how many copies of my book have sold, across all editions?

What the free edition covers, and covers in full.

• The catalog. Works, authors, genre, creation date — and under each work its editions, with ISBN, format, list price, print run and stock.

• Sales reports. Entered from the statements received from the distributor, by edition and by period, with sold and returned kept separate.

• Net sales. By edition, and cumulated across the work for all editions — the answer to the question above, with no manual recalculation.

• Two roles. Editorial management and executive management, with segregation by company.

What the full edition adds (dyo_edition_livre): the money. Author contracts and their cumulative tiered royalty schedule, which allocates each copy sold to the right tier based on the cumulative total already reached for the work; multi-author contracts with a split key checked to total 100%; advance recoupment, which refuses to release payment until the advance is covered; and the annual royalty statement, which refuses to be validated as long as print or stock data is missing for an edition — naming the edition.

What this module does not do. No production tracking or interface with a printer: the number of copies printed is entered manually. No interface with distributors (Hachette Livre Distribution, Interforum, Sodis or others): sales reports are entered from the statements received. No management of foreign rights or their agents. No digital distribution to booksellers and no ONIX feed. No general accounting or invoicing.
