eCommerce Data Layer for Odoo — the data layer every tracker expects: product viewed, added to cart, order placed, with price, currency and items. With no tracker inside.
Overview
eCommerce data layer — the foundation
Odoo 19 does inject gtag and Consent Mode v2, but it emits no eCommerce events: no product viewed, no add to cart, no order placed. Every tracking module therefore rebuilds its own plumbing, incompatible with its neighbor's, and you end up with three scripts each reading the DOM in its own way.
This module sets up the plumbing once, and ships no tracker.
Also searched as: data layer Odoo, dataLayer eCommerce, Odoo store conversion tracking, GA4 events Odoo, pixel Odoo.
What it emits. window.dyoDataLayer receives purchase-journey events, named after Google's eCommerce recommendation — view_item, view_item_list, add_to_cart, remove_from_cart, begin_checkout, purchase — each with the currency, value and item details: ID, name, unit price, quantity, category.
Rendered server-side, not guessed from the DOM. Prices, currencies and references come from the Odoo model, not from reading displayed text. A theme change breaks nothing, and a discount or an included tax yields the correct value.
Consent decides. Each event carries the state of advertising and analytics consent at the moment it occurs. A tracker connected to it knows whether it is allowed to send it.
No outgoing calls. This module talks to no one: it exposes, it does not send. That is what allows it to run on Odoo Online too.
What the module does not do
It sends nothing to Google, Meta or anyone else: it must be paired with a tracking module. It does not add a consent banner. It does not replace Odoo's Google Analytics key; it complements it.
