The real problem. A portage salarial (umbrella employment) company tracks its engagements, time spent and business expenses in a spreadsheet, with no overview per consultant and no reliable invoicing of end clients.

Ported consultants. Linked to an employee (hr.employee) rather than to an Odoo user: under the legal structure of portage salarial (umbrella employment), the consultant is an employee of the portage company. Start and end dates of the portage contract, with assignments and business expenses consolidated on their record.

Assignments. An assignment has an end client, a portage consultant and a billing method (time and materials at the daily rate, or fixed price). Each portage employee is linked to only one assignment at a time — unlike a consulting firm, a portage assignment involves a single portage employee, never a team.

Time spent. The umbrella employee logs time per engagement, first as draft, then validated. Logging time on a closed or cancelled engagement is impossible: the rule is enforced by a data constraint, not just by the interface.

End-client invoicing. Validated time-and-materials hours are invoiced in one click at the daily rate converted into an hourly rate. A fixed-price engagement is invoiced once, with no possibility of double invoicing — on standard Odoo Accounting.

Business expenses. Expenses incurred by the umbrella-employed consultant, reimbursable or not by the umbrella company — not expenses re-invoiced to the end client.

What the full version shows, without hiding it. The “Dashboard”, “Activity Accounts” and “Management Fees” menus exist in this free version and remain visible in the Portage salarial (umbrella employment) menu: they open a presentation page that shows, with a real screenshot, what the feature does in the full version — nothing is hidden, nothing is guessed. Installing the full module (dyo_portage_salarial) on top of this version switches those same menus to the real features, without losing a single consultant, mission, time entry or expense already entered.

Regulatory — everything is configurable, nothing is hard-coded. Portage salarial (umbrella employment) is governed by Ordinance No. 2015-380 of 2 April 2015 and the extended industry agreement, which provides for a guaranteed minimum monthly pay for the umbrella employee — without this free version calculating, checking or asserting any regulatory rate or threshold whatsoever.

Important — what this version does not do (see the dedicated section of this listing and the README): no dashboard, no activity account, no management fees, no PDF reports, no automatic reminders (see the full version); and, like the full version, this module does not do payroll: no payslip, no social security contributions, no filings.
