The price has three components, and that is the whole business. The French Social Action and Families Code (code de l'action sociale et des familles) requires three distinct pricing sections: accommodation, paid by the resident; dependency care, modulated by the GIR level, where the resident pays only the GIR 5-6 co-payment while the département covers the rest through the APA allowance; and medical care, funded by health insurance and never billed to the resident. An invoice mixing the three would be wrong — the module keeps them in three separate models, and the resident's bill simply cannot charge for medical care: the field does not exist there.
The GIR drives dependency, and it changes over time. Six iso-resource groups (GIR), from GIR 1 (total dependency) to GIR 6 (independent), with rates voted per pair: GIR 1-2, GIR 3-4, GIR 5-6. When a resident's GIR changes, invoicing follows from the effective date — never retroactively on a month already validated. A validated invoicing period is locked: an earlier GIR change can no longer modify it, and only affects future periods.
Absence entitles residents to a reduction, and every family knows it. Hospitalization or personal reasons: below 72 hours, nothing changes; beyond that, the accommodation charge is reduced by the forfait journalier hospitalier (daily hospital fee) and the dependency charge is no longer due for those days.
A bed is a physical resource. A bed, in a single or double room, in a unit — possibly including a secure unit for residents with dementia. Two stays cannot overlap on the same bed: the software refuses it, giving the date of the conflict.
The file holds legally required information, not a medical record. Trusted person, advance directives, attending physician: this is what the law requires to be known at all times, nothing more.
What the module does not do
No care record or personalized care plan: no prescriptions, no targeted care notes, no vital signs monitoring. No link with Trajectoire or ViaTrajectoire for admissions. No electronic transmission of invoices to the CNAV, the CAF or the conseil départemental (county council) — the amount payable by the resident and the APA share are calculated, but transmitting them remains to be done through the facility's usual channels. No nursing staff scheduling. The daily hospital fee and the rates for the three sections are entered by the facility: the module does not know their statutory default values, and it refuses to invoice as long as they are missing.
