Newsroom Source Verification — free edition — DYONYSOS

App for a local or specialist newsroom, a digital-native outlet, a news agency or a communications department that publishes, for Odoo 19 Community.

This module never says whether a claim is true or false. No newsroom can base its defense on a software oracle, and none would buy one. What is recorded is due diligence: which claim, checked by whom, against which source, on what date. Everything remains a human act — it is the journalist who assesses a source and decides to publish, never the software.

What the free edition covers, and covers in full.

• The claim rather than the article. A single factual statement, with its sensitivity: routine, sensitive, or implicating a person.

• Qualified sources. Type and above all quality — primary, secondary, interested party — date consulted, archived URL.

• The publication gate. “The municipality spent €1.2 million” does not go out without a primary source, and “the deputy mayor favored his cousin's company” does not go out on a single source. The refusal names the claim and the reason.

• Searchable indicators. “Sensitive assertion without a primary source” and “allegation without any source” are search filters, not just a color on an open record.

• Two roles. Journalist and editor-in-chief, with segregation by company.

Publishing a named accusation without a single source is defensible for no one: that is why this particular safeguard is free, and will remain so. What the free edition requires is that one source exists; anything required beyond that belongs to the full edition.

What the full edition adds (dyo_redaction_sources): everything at stake when a person is implicated — a record of the request for comment and of the right of reply, a requirement for two independent sources, with an “interested party” source never counting toward that total, a signed, accountable decision to publish without seeking comment, recording of challenges received after publication, and the PDF report of the verification file to produce when the newsroom is challenged.

What this module does not do. No automatic fact-checking of a claim, no querying of an external database. No artificial intelligence model is involved: everything is entered and decided by the journalist. No built-in web archiving — the archived URL is entered manually. No detection of AI-generated content. No CMS or publishing engine: the article modeled here is not the one your readers read, it is its internal verification file.
