A free management app for SMEs with a fleet of a few vehicles (vans, company cars), for Odoo 19 Community. The day-to-day operational core of a shared fleet: who booked which vehicle, when, and the trip logbook.

The real problem. An SME with a small vehicle fleet tracks bookings and mileage in a spreadsheet or by word of mouth, with double bookings discovered too late and mileage never recorded on the vehicle record.

An extension module, not a reimplementation. The Odoo Community fleet module already handles, natively and for free, the vehicle record (make, model, license plate), the current driver and their history, contracts and servicing, and odometer readings — as soon as hr is installed alongside it, via hr_fleet (a standard Odoo module, installed automatically). This app redevelops none of that: it adds what is genuinely missing for the day-to-day use of a shared fleet.

Bookings — assignment or pool, one single pattern. A fleet vehicle can be assigned by name to an employee for a long period, or booked occasionally as a pool vehicle for a few hours or days: both are recorded in the same schedule, with double bookings rejected by a data constraint (partial overlap, containment, back-to-back periods treated as non-conflicting), not just by the calendar display. The starting mileage is recorded when the vehicle is picked up.

Logbook. Each trip (start and end odometer readings, purpose, department) feeds Fleet's native odometer log (fleet.vehicle.odometer) without duplicating it: it is the same counter, seen from two angles. A PDF report lists a vehicle's trips over the period.

Usage policy. A policy text configurable by the company, signed by each assigned employee, with an explicit statement of whether private use is authorized.

Two profiles, segregated from this edition onward. A driver views and manages their own bookings and their own logbook; a manager sees everything and configures the default usage policy.

Important — what this free edition does not do (see the dedicated section of this listing and the README): no claims tracking, no consolidated cost per vehicle or per kilometer, no dashboard, no roadworthiness test or mileage-based maintenance alerts — see the full edition dyo_flotte_vehicules, which installs on top of this one without asking for anything again or requiring any re-entry.

And in neither edition: no benefit-in-kind calculation valid for payroll purposes, no onboard telematics, no automatic reporting to the insurer, no driver's license verification against an official registry.

Demo data: a fleet of about ten vehicles (pool and assigned), employee drivers, usage policies in different states, bookings and trips over the current month, so that the planning shows normal fleet activity, never an idle fleet.
